Welcome to My Personal Page
Myrna is the quintessential hometown girl, born and raised on a farm near Morden and continuing that community connection through a career at Access Credit Union over the past 23 years.
Starting as a Member Service Representative and completing her Certificate in Management at the University of Manitoba and her MBA through Athabasca University, she now holds the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing many of the daily operations of the organization.
In her free time, Myrna is involved in various community committees and events and is an avid golfer.
Why do you support STARS?
I support STARS because it aligns with the communities that I care most about, both personally and professionally. Every day I work to ensure Access addresses members’ financial health, and STARS extends a high level of medical care services to respond to their physical health.
Being part of this event also demonstrates our continued support for volunteerism in our communities. There are many passionate and committed individuals who volunteer in our local Fire Departments and Emergency Services, some of whom are my family, my friends and my Access CU co-workers. They volunteer their personal time to attend calls and training, and they work together with STARS towards a common goal – to save lives. We want to stand beside these selfless people and thank them for making this sacrifice for our families, our friends and our neighbours.
What will be your indispensable piece of survival gear or good luck charm?
I will have a few important “pieces” with me: my phone (to contact sponsors and capture memories), a screwdriver (because you never know when you need it), and a gold charm given to me by a family member (which represents playfulness, joy and peace).
