Welcome to My Personal Page
James was born and raised in rural southern Manitoba and resides outside of Winkler with his wife, Kim. James has been employed for the past 17 years as a service manager at Janzen Chevrolet in Winkler. He enjoys his job and thrives for excellent customer service. Outside of work, James’ passion is dirt-track racing. Fifteen years of racing has lead to a lot of great bonding time with his sons Cody and Brad in the shop and on the track. It has also lead to meeting many new friends.
Why do you support STARS?
I support STARS because I feel passionate about the service it provides and want to raise awareness to all of rural southern Manitoba about what STARS offers. A year ago I thought STARS was a quick ride to the hospital. After my son Brad had a serious motor vehicle accident last March, I realized that STARS is like a hospital coming to your rescue. They are fully equipped to provide you with the best chance of survival. Even though Brad did not survive, STARS gave Brad a chance and we had four days with him before he passed away. Without STARS, I don’t believe Brad would have made it through the first night. I want everyone in rural Manitoba to have access to STARS so that everyone has the chance of the best possible care when they need it.
What will be your indispensable piece of survival gear or good luck charm?
My lucky charms will be my son Brad’s chain that I have worn since he passed away which has a memorial pendant attached. My other good luck charm will be my son Cody beside me during the events on the island.
